Cosmopolitan Resort & Casino Description
The Cosmoplitan broke ground in October 2005 and will be complete in late 2009. Perini Building Co. spent the first 12 months excavating 60 feet down, described by a Cosmopolitan spokeswoman as "one of the deepest digs in Las Vegas history," and removing 800,000 cubic yards of dirt to make room for a four-level parking structure and foundation for the project. Construction on the Cosmopolitan began its ascent skyward in April 2007
All of the first tower's condo hotel units are sold out. Some units remain in the second tower. All units include private balconies with outstanding views of the Las Vegas Strip and skyline.
The developer of The Cosmopolitan is a group called 3700 Associates. Ian Bruce Eichner, CEO of 3700 Associates, is one of the nation's premier developers of luxury time share and condominium properties, including The Manhattan Club in New York and the Continuum development in Miami's South Beach district.
