Off-screen, Pamela Anderson suffered through a stolen sex-video scandal, hepatitis C and the removal and replacement of her breast implants. In 2006, Pamela Anderson married her on-again, off-again love, Kid Rock, in two separate, highly publicized ceremonies. They filed for one divorce a few months later.
Pamela Anderson was first discovered at the age of 21, when she attended a BC Lions game at BC Place in Vancouver. At some point during the game, She was featured on the stadium screen wearing a Lablatt's T-shirt, which inspiredcheers from the crowd. Lablatt's, a Canadian beer, immediately offered Pam a modeling gig, which she accepted. That was the summer of 1989; by year's end, she will have made her first appearance in Playboy and moved to Los Angeles. Once she got to LA, Pamela Anderson dyed her hair blonde, got a boob job and landed a minor role on Home Improvement. However, her breakthrough came in 1992, when she was cast as C.J. Parker on an obscure little TV show called Baywatch. Pamela, and her body in that red bathing suit, quickly became an international sensation, which led to more modeling contracts and roles in B-movies such as Snapdragon, Naked Souls and, of course, the would-be cult classic, Barb Wire. Pamela Anderson left the cast of Baywatch in 1997 but would reprise her role in the 2003 reunion movie, Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding.
Pamela Anderson married Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee in February 1995, and the couple had two sons: Brandon Thomas Lee (born in 1996) and the rather unfortunately-named Dylan Jagger Lee (born in 1997). The couple would divorce in February 1998 but would maintain an on-again, off-again romantic relationship throughout the years in-between Pamela's failed marriages to Kid Rock and, most recently, Paris Hilton's ex, RickSolomon. Pamela and Tommy Lee are probably best known for their wildly popular sex tape, which was eventually distributed as Pam & Tommy Lee: Stolen Honeymoon.
Pamela Anderson's more recent film credits include Scary Movie 3 (2003); blonde and Blonder (2007); and Superhero Movie (2008). she also played herself, and the object of Borat's desire, in Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006). Her post-Baywatch television series include the syndicated action show, V.I.P. (1998-2002); the animated superhero series, Stripperella (2003-2004), for which Pamela provided the voice of the title character; and the comedy series, Stacked (2005-2006), in which Pamela plays a former party girl who takes a job at a family-run bookstore. Pamela Anderson is the author of two novels, Star (2004), co-written with Eric ShawQuinn, and Starstruck (2005), which basically details Pamela's relationship with Tommy Lee. She is also a vegetarian, an advocate for animal rights and an active member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).
