Marshall Amplification is the original creator of speakers that can (okay, figuratively) turned up to "11" on their volume dials. One of the world's leading and best-known makers of guitar amplification equipment, Marshall makes amplifiers and accessories for both electric and acoustic guitars, as well as for other musical instruments and for small public address systems. Products are distributed throughout the world through music equipment retailers. In 1962 Jim Marshall opened a music shop selling specialized the amplifiers so often requested by the era's musicians; over the years the small business evolved into Marshall Amplification. The company is still owned by Jim Marshall.
