Madison Marquette purchased the
property from Chicago-based M&J Wilkow, Ltd. for $37 million and is spending an additional $34 million to upgrade
the mall and attract more visitors.Madison Marquette is currently in the process of strengthening the
retail mix by adding additional
stores and restaurants.Madison Marquette is also cosmetically upgrading the
interior and exterior of the property.Improvements will include new flooring, lighting,
furnishings, landscaping, seating areas and new signage.New
additions to
the center include Kohl’s and later this year, Bed
Bath &
Beyond.The
design renovation is creating more of a shopping
district for Bayfair and
San Leandro.The finished renovation will reveal a clean and
contemporary design with an abundance of natural
light provided by skylights.
Limestone floors and warm tones will round out the interior
spaces.The color scheme will be warm and timeless in neutral tones.
