The only pro basketball team whose players are allowed to run up the court with the ball stuffed under their jerseys, the Harlem Globetrotters have been entertaining audiences to the strains of \"Sweet Georgia Brown\" for almost 80 years. Famous Globetrotters such as Wilt Chamberlain, Curly Neal, and Meadowlark Lemon have performed for more than 100 million fans in 115 countries. Originally hailing from Chicago as the Savoy Big Five, the Globetrotters have won more than 20,000 games (aided by trick skills and the somewhat rigged nature of the contests). The team plays almost 300 games a year and has enjoyed a financial turnaround under owner Mannie Jackson, a former Globetrotter who bought the team in 1993.
