Track Shape:
Oval layout in a Paper-clip design. 
Martinsvill has tight turns and the straight-aways run 800 ft. Turns are 588 ft long.
Track Width:
55 ft wide.
Banking:
12 degree banking in turns and flat on straight-aways.
Pit Road:
Pit Road is 46 ft wide and houses 43 pit stalls. Pit Road begins in the third turn, wraps around the frontstretch, and exits in turn two. The stalls are 14 ft wide and 28 ft in length.

Martinsville Speedway property covers 250 acres.


History:
In 1947, H. Clay Earles built Martinsville Speedway. This was before NASCAR had been formed. Two years later, Martinsville hosted the 6^th race in the NASCAR series “Strictly Stock”. The International Speedway Corp. purchased the track in 2004.
