Minnesota Twins Description
The Washington Senators moved to Minnesota and became the Minnesota Twins in 1961. They quickly became a successful team playing in the World Series in 1965. The Twins eventually won two world championships in 1987 and 1991. Lately the Twins have been dominating the Central Division by winning the title most recently in 2006. Over the years numerous hall of famers have worn a Twins jersey Rod Carew, Harmon Killebrew, and Kirby Puckett. The Minnesota Twins also have a very promising future ahead with a very exciting, young, and talented core of players in Mauer, Morneau, and Santana. The Twins are also one of the best teams in Major League baseball at developing their young players. It is safe to say that there is a bright future here in Minnesota for the Twins and their fans with a new stadium set to open in 2010.
