The view today 
   

Piazza del Popolo (popolo=people, but in this case Popolo derives from pioppo=poplar) is shown by Vasi full of carriages. It had a role similar to a railway station since most of the travellers arrived here. In addition, Via Flaminia, which linked Rome with the main cities of the State of the Church (Ancona and Bologna) started here.
The view is taken from Via di Ripetta, near the Church of S. Maria dei Miracoli
