Parc Jean-Drapeau (also called Parc des Îles) is situated South of Montreal in Canada, Quebec right in the middle of the St. Lawrence River. It comprises two islands, Saint Helen's Island and Notre Dame Island.
Notre Dame Island greets each year the Grand Prix of Montreal which takes place on the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and the Osheaga Festival. The Montreal Casino, the Gardens of the Floralies and the old pavillon of Canada are also located on this island as well as the "La Ronde" amusement park belonging to Six Flags . The site was largely built for and hosted the 1967 World's Fair.
The park was renamed in honour of Jean Drapeau, the late mayor of Montreal and initiator of the Expo 67 exposition themed "Man amd his World" or, in french, "Terre des Hommes".
