Portland Building / Portland City Hall Description

Add  Expand/Collapse
The Portland Building (Portland Public Service Building) at 1120 SW Fifth Avenue in beautiful downtown Portland is the successor to the old Portland City Hall, which is located on the adjacent block.  While this Michael Graves structure has generated its fair share of both praise and criticism, it nevertheless remains an eyecatching piece of architecture.  The building is graced by the monumental sculpture of the sacred goddess Portlandia, chief deity of the local population, who may be observed bowing in obeisance to her on most Sunday afternoons.
