SPORTING CLUBE DE PORTUGAL (SCP), typically referred to as SPORTING, is a multisports club, based in Lisbon, Portugal, and is mostly known by its football team. Outside Portugal the club is often erroneously known as "Sporting Lisbon". the club was formed in 1906 and over 100 years its teams and players have won over 50 Olympic, World or National Gold medals becoming one of the biggest clubs in Europe (second in titles only to Barcelona, Spain). SPORTING has a huge fan base with more than 3 million fans around the world. Together with S. L. Benfica and F. C. Porto it is one of the " big 3" clubs in Portugal.
