Walden Pond is a kettle pond, a pond left behind when, thousands of years ago, a massive glacier, passing over what is now Concord Massachusettes, carried with it a massive chunk of land.  In the not too distant past, a man named Henry David Thoreau squatted next to the sweet cool water of this pond.  His objective was to escape a society that, he thought, was frivolous.  At Walden pond, you need only one change of clothes.  At Walden pond, you live off the land.  At Walden pond, you are a spectator of the natural world.  So it was.  And so it shall be...
