
McLaren Racing, which currently has around 550 employees, is the company behind Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. It was formed in 1980 following the merger of Team McLaren and Project Four, Ron Dennis’ racing company. McLaren has competed in Formula 1 since 1966 and is one of the most successful Formula 1 teams with 155 Grand Prix wins. The team has also claimed eleven Formula 1 Drivers’ World Championships and eight Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship.
Operating in the highly competitive and technological environment of Formula 1, McLaren Racing comprises a multitude of administrative and engineering departments, ranging from vehicle design and aerodynamics, to materials science and paint shop.
