The Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex
The igloo-like Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex is a 115,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility offering recreational and entertainment activities for all ages. The complex features two NHL size ice rinks, a fitness center, video game room, conference rooms, concessions area, and birthday party rooms. Visit the beautiful Gamble Mansion Historic State Park and step back in time to the 1850s Florida frontier. In 1925, the house and 16 acres were saved by the United Daughters of the Confederacy and donated to the state. Today, the mansion is furnished in the style of a successful mid-19th century plantation. The Madira Bickel Mound State Archeological Site was the first ancient Native American site to be designated a State Archaeological Site. Archaeological excavations have disclosed at least three periods of Native American cultures, the earliest dating back 2,000 years. The Prime Outlet Center in Ellenton is the largest outlet center on the Gulf Coast with over 130 factory direct stores. The Caribbean village-style architecture and tropical landscaping contribute to a great shopping experience.
