Helotes Texas an Informative History
Helotes Texas
Helotes was settled in the mid-1850’s by Mexicans who intermarried with the Apache Indians in the area. A man named Chaca is rumored to be the first person to build a home and cultivate a cornfield in Helotes, which in Spanish means “green roasting ear of corn.”
