Hong Kong's financial markets are to remain shut until further notice Wednesday owing to inclement weather after the City hoisted a tropical storm warning. Trading on securities and derivatives markets could resume in the afternoon session if the local authorities downgrade the Tropical Storm warning before noon local time, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Ltd. said in a statement. The HONG KONG Observatory hoisted the No. 8 storm signal late Tuesday evening as the Severe tropical Storm Fengshen approached from the Philippines, where as a typhoon, it sank a ferry, killing about 700 passengers.

Hong Kong star Fiona Sit was hit by a man with a water bottle on Feb 23 when she was attending a charity event. 

The attacker was alleged to have thrown the bottle towards Fiona, which hit her right face and another worker at the event. Both of the victim didn’t suffer any major injuries, although Fiona’s face was a bit swollen after the incident.

The attacker claimed that it was an accident, but there are videos and eyewitnesses that suggest otherwise. The reason behind the attack is still unclear.

The attack has raised fear among Hong Kong artists about their personal safety in public area, as another female artist Angela Tong was slapped on her face just about a month ago.



Fiona Sit fronted a signing event in Taipei yesterday to promote her debut Mandarin album, It’s My Day. To thank fans for their support, Fiona sang songs from her album at the event. Her record company, Warner Music organised a competition for Fiona's fans, where the winner received a small gift and was allowed to join Fiona in a duet. The male fan performed with Fiona with plenty of emotion and resembled Khalil Fong (方大同) in the music video for Travelling Quartet.

Fiona will be returning to Hong Kong next week to prepare for more promotional events for her album. However, she emphasised that She will definitely reunite with her fans in Taiwan soon.

During her visit to Taiwan, Fiona has shown improvement on her Mandarin dialect and was able to naturally chat with others. Like many people visiting Taiwan, food has been the major appeal and Fiona has also caught on to this. she claimed that She might have put on a little weight and really will miss the food after she leaves Taiwan. She added that she will also miss the natural spas.

Recently, the press has speculated about Fiona and her rumoured boyfriends, Jaycee Chan and Khalil. When asked to clarify as to which One of the men was her boyfriend, Fiona replied reluctantly, saying that both men are her good friends. Reporters were unsatisfied with this reply and continued to question Fiona. As she started to leave the venue, Fiona added, "If I was going out with one of them, we would not show up together as a group. Men are not this generous about relationships."
