Kenner is also home of the great toy manufacturer Kenner Toys. Kenner Toy was founded in 1947.

Laketown, Kenner  features a boat launch, fishing piers and picnic pavilions. Located on Lake Pontchartrain.

Rivertown The historic district located along the original main street of Old Kenner, featuring museums, shops and cultural resources. Highlights include the Rivertown Repertory Theatre, Kenner's Heritage Park, Kenner's planetarium and science museum.

Kenner Louisiana is a city in Jefferson Parrish, and a suburb of New Orleans. The city has a population of nearly 72,000 residents. Kenner was founded in 1855  by Minor Kenner on land that consisted of three plantation properties that he and his family purchased. At the time more than half was swampland. In 1867 the city was incorporated, and again in 1867, 1873 and 1913. Kenner is located on the west side of New Orleans, with boundaries on the north of Lake Pontchartrain and the Mississippi River to the south. Kenner is Louisiana's seventh largest city. Kenner is a heavily populated city as its size is only 15 square miles. In 1915 street cars connected Kenner with New Orleans. Kenner stayed a relatively small town until the 1960,s when developers started draining and filling the swampland in the northern half of the city. rapid business development and residential growth built this town quickly.
