Message from the Mayor of Leon Valley |

Leon Valley developed after WWII and incorporated as a town in the 1950s. It reported only 536 residents for the 1960 Census which has since grown to the present 9,239 (2000). The city, which at first glance appears to have more businesses than homes, deserves recognition for the care given to their (several) water towers.

  Swimming in Leon Valley this Summer?
Two wonderful opportunities are available for Leon Valley residents to become members of local pools in Leon Valley.
The Leon Valley Community Association operates the pool on Strawflower and Poss Road, opposite Raymond Rimkus Park has their own website at www.leonvalleypool.com. Membership applications with early bird membership discounts, hours of operation, and other important information is available at their website. You can also call (210) 706-2996 for further information. Family and individual memberships are available. Special Senior discounts are also available.
The Forest Oaks Community Association (FOCA) also has a lovely pool facility on Forest Grove just off Evers Road/Forest Way. Membership information is available at www.forestoakspool.com or calling 990-6898. Applications are available as well as calendars for swimming lessons and hours of operation. Family, Couples, Individual and Senior memberships also available.
Get in the swim of things - cool off and enjoy Leon Valley’s cool local getaway from the heat without large gas expenses to get there!
