|
Matthew Town provides little in the way of marine facilities, except for a very small man-made inlet. Anchoring off is fine in settled weather. The only activity on the island is in the southwest at Matthew Town. Much of the island's coastline is hostile with no anchoring opportunities and no road running along much of the coast so help will not be forthcoming should a yacht encounter difficulties. The small harbour offers protection from all directions except the NW. There are plans to extend the breakwaters and alter the entrance to provide complete shelter, as well as dredging and installing shower facilities. )
