Daniela Hantuchova was born on April 23, 1983 in Poprad, Slovakia to Marianna and Igor. She has an older brother also called Igor. Daniela is a professional tennis player on the WTA tour and has been playing professionally since 1999. In her career to date Daniela has won 3 main tour titles, 2 at Indian Wells and 1 in Linz, and has 8 main tour doubles titles. Daniela is also one of only four women in the history of womens tennis to have won all 4 Grand Slam Titles in Mixed Doubles; the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and US Open. Daniela is currently 12th in the singles rankings and 58th in the doubles rankings as of June 23rd 2008. Daniela has been as high as 5th in both the singles and the doubles rankings. Currently Daniela is 14th in the Race to the Championships for 2008.

Poprad (pronunciation (help·info); Hungarian: Poprád, German: Deutschendorf) is a city in northern Slovakia at the foot of the High Tatra Mountains. It is the biggest town of the Spiš region and the tenth largest city in Slovakia.

The city has an historic centre, an international airport and is the starting point of the Tatranská elektrická železnica (Tatra Electric Railway) -- a set of special narrow-gauge trains (trams) connecting the resorts in the High Tatras with each other and with Poprad. Main line trains link Poprad to other destinations in Slovakia and beyond; in particular, through trains run to Prague in the Czech Republic.
