Population: 11,081 (2000 census)
Richmond is the county seat of Fort Bend County in the U.S. state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area.
Richmond is also considered the "twin" city of Rosenberg as the city boundaries are joined. Even though it is the county seat, thus containing most of the local government offices, it actually is one of the smaller cities in the area and is relatively weak in economic strength compared other local municipalities. As growth from Houston appears to be spreading past Sugar Land, this could change in the not-too-distant future—given the current trends in the Richmond–Rosenberg area. Source: Wikipedia
