Some Basic Facts

The World consists of over 300 man-made islands that are designed to represent the world map.
Construction began on September 21, 2003.
The project is expected to be completed sometime in 2008.
Investors will be allowed to creat their own vision of the islands for private or commercial use, whether for leisure, residential, or tourist developments.
326 cubic meters of sand will be used to create the islands.
32 million tons of rock will be used to create the outer border.
The price of the islands will range from $10 million (US) to $45 million (US).
Construction is a 24 hour, 7 day a week project.
