The third-ranked Gophers wrestling team won eight matches and defeated No. 18 Wisconsin 32-6 Friday night at the Sports Pavilion.
Senior All-America heavyweight Brock Lesnar, ranked No. 1 in the nation, pinned Wisconsin's Justin Staebler in two minutes, two seconds. Lesnar is undefeated (17-0) this season, with nine pins.
The evening started at 141 pounds, where sophomore Chad Erikson, ranked 13th, defeated Grant Hoerr 8-6. In the next bout, Gophers redshirt freshman Jared Lawrence held a 11-4 lead over P.J. Dowling at 149 when the fifth-ranked Lawrence pinned him at 5:45.
