A dartmoor agricultural show enjoyed its best year ever as the
ground yesterday enjoyed a rare break from the recent torrential
rain and livestock returned to the show after last year's foot-and-
mouth outbreak.
Thousands of people turned out for the one-day Chagford
Agricultural Show.
There were nearly 300 farm animals on show and more than 400
horses and ponies. Other attractions included horticultural and
floral displays, food stalls and crafts and vintage vehicles.
And for the first time this year, the show's most loyal attendee
was given his own corner of the horticultural tent to tell visitors
about the show's history. At 84, Henry Scott has attended every
