The football exodus from Raleigh continues.

Millbrook High School's Jermicus Banks, who had committed to N.C. State, will become the second major recruit to spurn the Wolfpack in the wake of coach Mike O'Cain's firing, according to his high school coach.

Banks, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound defensive end, canceled his commitment to N.C. State this past week and will announce his new college choice Monday. With the Wolfpack's unsettled head coaching situation, Banks will commit elsewhere, and North Carolina is the leading candidate.

"Unless they have a coach by then, he wouldn't sign with" N.C. State, said Millbrook coach Earl Smith.
