The lunch crowd at Miss Katie's Diner, 1900 W. Clybourn Ave.,
Thursday was a little larger than usual. Make that a little larger
than life.
German Chancellor Helmut Kohl and President Bill Clinton, their
entourages and about two dozen Secret Service agents dropped in for
some Milwaukee-style sustenance, at the recommendation of one of
Clinton's local campaign advisers, urologist Richard J. Boxer.
Boxer, who rode with Clinton from Mitchell Airport in the
presidential limousine Wednesday night, was among the customers who
stood and applauded about 1:45 p.m., when the two heads of state
finally, definitively answered the burning question of the visit:
