ARAPAHOE -- When Angie Propst of Oriental heard Arapahoe Charter School had been left out of the funding loop for anticipated state lottery money, she was shocked.

She has a Pamlico County High School son who attended the elementary school for six years and a daughter currently there in the fifth grade.

"This may have been an oversight this time, but it is up to the legislators to do the right thing," she said. "This is a public school. Our children are entitled to public funds."
