Alice Springs
Australia's Northern Territory is the size of California with a population of about 200,000. The capital city is Darwin; Alice Springs and Katherine are also sizable settlements. The Territory has four main visitor centers that provide information and advice for travelers, each with their own website providing a wealth of information.
The Territory is split into two distinct regions.
The Top end, known to travelers for its tropical weather, rich indigenous culture and National Parks. It is home to a mix of cultures whose outdoor lifestyle is complemented by brilliant sunsets, and fantastic fishing.
Central Australia lies in the heart of Australia and Australians. Nature overwhelms you in The Center. The skyscrapers are made out of rock, not steel, and one of the best shows in town is the million-star display at night. The large population of unique animals, birds and reptiles proves that this arid climate is more than
hospitable.
