Aliz饠debuted in 2000 with the album?Gourmandises. It went on to become a hit both in Europe and outside. The album reached top five in charts in France, Germany, Mexico, Asian Countries and others. It was followed up with a studio album in 2003,?Mes Courants ɬectriques, and a live album—Aliz饠En Concert—in 2004.

Aliz饠has sold nearly five million albums & singles around the globe. She has taken part in various stage shows and live performances throughout Europe and Russia, in addition to starring in a Japanese commercial. More recently, she has been becoming just as popular in North America as she is in much of Europe; the latest concert tours together with earlier promotion leading to a very strong fan base in mainly The United States of America and in Mexico. In addition, Aliz饧s dance from "J'en Ai Marre" has also had influence in the Night Elf female dance in Blizzard Entertainment's best-selling game?World of Warcraft?released in 2004.^[11]

Following her marriage in late 2003, Aliz饠had taken a hiatus from singing and had avoided appearing in the media since, with her older official site being offline since summer of 2005. Her first television appearance since then was on MTV France on?February 18,?2006. BIOGRAPHY

Alizee was born August 21, 1984, in Ajaccio, Corsica. She began to take dance lessons at the age of 5 and soon added drama and voice instruction to her repertoire. Her parents entered her in the equivalent of?Star Search?later on in life and Alizee won the studio and television audience over with an interpretation of a big radio hit in France at the time.?

The performance led to an audition to record "Moi... lolita" in 2000 in front of pop Star Myl讥 Farmer and producer Laurent Boutonnat. The duo was overwhelmed with the presence of the young Alizee and after a callback, a contract was signed.?

The song "Moi... lolita" went on to become one of the top selling singles in recent chart history. Alizee had become an overnight pop success. After a string of promotional appearances to plug the single, Alizee recorded the albumGourmandises, written by Farmer from the point of view of a teenage girl going through typical adolescent growing pains.?

The album proved to be a phenomenal smash and hot on the heels of "Moi... lolita", went platinum in France in just three months. The next single "L'Alize," released in conjunction with the album, also achieved major sale success in her native country and abroad.?

Having established herself in France, Germany and The Netherlands, Alizee went international in 2001, withGourmandises?being released to greater Europe, including Russia, as well as Canada and Japan. In England, her debut single was given significant airplay without the benefit of a translated version, a rarity in the fickle UK market.?
