Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Malin Akerman, Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell and Faizon Love star in Universal Pictures’ upcoming comedy “Couples Retreat.” Based on an original idea of Vaughn’s, the comedy follows four Midwestern couples who embark on a journey to a tropical island resort. While one of the couples is there to work on their marriage, the other three set out to jet ski, spa and enjoy some fun in the sun. They soon discover that participation in the resort’s couples therapy is not optional. Suddenly, their group-rate vacation comes at a price. What follows is a hilarious look at real world problems faced by all couples. The film also stars Kali Hawk and Jean Reno.

During the day time Amateur boxer Hector Villa (Kuno Becker) works for ranch owner Big Al Stevens picking fruit. At night, he earns extra money through fighting at local bars. Hector’s mother, Rosa, becomes sick, and Hector relies on the title money he wins from boxing matches to buy his mother’s medication. Big Al notices Hector’s potential in boxing and fears that Hector may be able to take on and win against his undefeated son, Robert. To prevent this from ever happening, Big Al has his henchmen beat up Hector and leave him to die in the desert. Fighting for his life, Hector finds himself homeless on the streets of Mexico. But after finding out his mother is dead, Hector seeks to settle the score between him and Big Al. He looks for training and guidance from old time boxer Billy Jenkins to prepare himself for his fight against Robert.
