Bakugan Battle Brawlers
Bakugan Battle Brawlers , is a Japanese action adventure anime television series produced by TMS Entertainment and Japan Vistec under the direction of Mitsuo Hashimoto. The story centers on the lives of creatures called Bakugan and the battle brawlers who possess them. Consisting of fifty-one episodes, Bakugan Battle Brawlers debuted in Japan on TV Tokyo in 2007. Nelvana Limited produced the English language version and premiered the series on the Canadian network Teletoon later the same year.
The English series differed in length from the Japanese version, consisting of 52 episodes compared with the Japanese 51. In February 2008 Cartoon Network began airing the series in the United States. In conjunction with the anime series, Sega Toys and Spin Master released a strategic game, called Bakugan, using metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded miniature figures. The latest season of Bakugan is called Bakugan New Vestroia.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers Media and Anime
The fifty-two episode anime television series was produced by TMS Entertainment and Japan Vistec under the direction of Mitsuo Hashimoto in 2007. Bakugan Battle Brawlers made its debut in Japan on TV Tokyo on April 5, 2007 and was rebroadcast six days later on BS Japan. Nelvana Limited produced the English language version and premiered the series on the Canadian network Teletoon on July 2007 and then on Cartoon Network on February 24, 2008.
Four pieces of theme music were used for the series; two opening themes by Psychic Lover and two closing themes. The opening theme for the first thirty episodes is “Number One Battle Brawlers”; and the last twenty-one episodes is “Bucchigiri Infinite Generation”. The closing theme for the first twenty-six episodes is “Air Drive” by Elephant Girl; and the last twenty-five episodes is “Hello”
Bakugan Battle Brawlers New Vestroia
In March 2009, TMS and Nelvana Entertainment companies announced that a new season of Bakugan Battle Brawlers consisting of 26 episodes was in production. Titled Bakugan: New Vestroia, the new series revolves around Dan, Shun, and Marucho being called to the newly restored Vestroia, allying with three new brawlers named Mira, Ace, and Baron against the evil Vexos organization. The series began airing on April 12, 2009 on the Canadian network Teletoon and then on Cartoon Network on May 9, 2009.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers Movie
According to the official Bakugan news page on their website, December 11, 2008, Spin Master Ltd. and Universal Pictures entered a deal in which Stuber and Universal Productions will make a film based on the best-selling strategy game and anime.
Game
A strategic game called Bakugan was developed by Sega Toys and Spin Master and released in conjunction with the anime series. The game uses metal cards and magnetic spring-loaded miniature figures, representing the Bakugan. The objective of the game is to capture three of the opponent’s Gate cards . Battle is engaged when rolled Bakugan magnetically pop open on the same gate card. G-Power from the Bakugan, Ability cards (at player’s option), Traps (at player’s option), and Gate card are summed to determine the battle’s winner. The winner being whichever player’s Bakugan has the Highest “G-power”
The game can also be played with up to four people. The rules remain the same as with the regular game. Bakugan may also be played in Big game style where instead of three Gate cards and three Ability cards and three Bakugan, each player gets six of each. Instead of capturing three Gate cards, a player must capture six to win the game.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers Toys/Electronics
In February 2009 Digital Blue announced a new line of Bakugan branded electronics for the 7-11 age group. Products include branded digital cameras, alarm clocks and other electronics. The line is expected in retail spring 2009.
Activision has announced that in agreement with the producers of the Bakugan series, a video game will be created based on the television series and physical game. The video game is being developed for release on the Wii, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 2 video game platforms. So far, nothing is known about the video game’s gameplay. The announced release date for this game is Fall of 2009.
Bakugan Battle Brawlers were given the 2009 Toy Of The Year award by the Toy Industry Association.
