The US Open Tennis Championships in Flushing Meadows, Queens, is one of the premier sporting events in the world. Along with the neighboring Mets at Shea Stadium, the US Open puts Queens on the sports map. The two-week tournament is held every August and September at the USTA National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows Corona Park.
Tickets on sale for American Express Cardmembers week prior to general public.

Tennis matches occur during the day (11 a.m.) and at night (7 p.m.) on most days of the tournament, and are held in several venues within the grounds of the USTA National Tennis Center.
Tennis Venues at the US Open Arthur Ashe Stadium hosts the top-seeded matches and the finals. Usually five matches per day at Ashe.
Louis Armstrong Stadium has some reserved seating and also open seating for ground pass or other ticket-holders.
The Grandstand is a smaller venue, open to anyone with a grounds pass or other ticket.
Field courts throughout the grounds. These are a great chance to get real close to the action. In the first few days of the tournament, the field courts are simply the best places to watch tennis. The experience of being so close to the action is unparalleled.
Although the main US Open tournament is the best tennis, it’s a lot of fun to check out the free Qualifying Tournament (August 19-22) and Practice Day (August 24) before the main event. Kids’ Day (August 23) is also a great event for children and their families. These free events are a good value for getting close to the tennis action.
Grounds Admission Tickets
The Grounds Pass or Grounds Admission is a relatively cheap way to see a lot of tennis. Grounds Admission is only available the first eight days of the tournament, with access to matches held in the field courts, Grandstand, and portions of the Louis Armstrong Stadium. For a hearty tennis fan, that can mean five or more matches. The Grounds Admission, however, does not grant admission to Arthur Ashe Stadium.
