Vivian Brown- On-Camera Meteorologist
On-Camera Meteorologist Vivian Brown brings viewers of The Weather Channel their forecast each weekday on “Afternoon Outlook” from 4 -6 PM ET.
When asked what part of her job gives her the most satisfaction, Brown responded, “It’s most rewarding to know that information I provide to the public helps them protect themselves, their families, and their property from the dangers of some weather events.”
Brown began her career at The Weather Channel as a product specialist, responsible for preparation of on-air graphics and analysis of current conditions, as well as forecasting. She later was enrolled in the network’s apprentice program, designed to allow qualified meteorologists employed by the network to develop television broadcast presentation skills.
Recipient of a full-athletic scholarship in track and field, Brown attended Jackson State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology.
Brown is a member of The American Meteorological Society, The National Weather Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She also holds the distinguished Television Seal of Approval for Broadcast Meteorology from the American Meteorological Society.
Married and mother of three, Vivian enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis and reading.
Sharon Resultan: On-Camera Meteorologist
A native of Toldeo, Ohio, Sharon graduated with a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. She first appeared on-air at The Weather Channel in 1993.
Earlier job positions for Sharon included a prime time weather anchor for WICZ-TV in Binghamton, New York, and a forecaster and weather anchor for WSAW-TV in Wausau, Wisconsin. Prior to joining The Weather Channel. She was a morning/noon weather anchor for WNDU-TV in South Bend, Indiana.
Eboni Deon: On-Camera Meteorologist
Eboni Deon joined The Weather Channel in June, 2001 as a Radio Broadcast Meteorologist. Deon became a Broadband On-Camera Meteorologist in 2003 and an On-Camera Meteorologist in January, 2005. She’s presently seen on Weekend Outlook 5am-7am ET.
Deon received her B.S. in Meteorology from Jackson State University in 1998 and her M.S. in Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University in 2002. Eboni, was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN. Her hobbies include traveling, dancing, and spending time with family and friends and her two dogs Bradley and Mister.
Alexandra Steele: On-Camera Meteorologist
A native of Albany, NY, Ms. Steele attended undergraduate school at Brown University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in History of Art and Architecture. She went on to earn a Masters of Science degree at the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago. Her meteorology studies were completed at various universities in Connecticut including Fairfield University and Western Connecticut State University. Ms. Steele also earned a Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.
Ms. Steele had been the on-camera meteorologist for four years on Good Morning Washington at WJLA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Washington D.C., where she was also seen on their evening newscast. Prior to working at the ABC affiliate in Washington, D.C., Ms. Steele served for three years as an on-camera forecaster for WTNH-TV, the ABC affiliate in New Haven, Connecticut. Previous experience also includes three years as a forecaster and reporter at WRNN-TV in Kingston, New York. Ms. Steele’s television background extends behind the camera as well. She has worked in the London and New York bureaus of ABC News for both Good Morning America and PrimeTime Live.
Betty Davis: On-Camera Meteorologist
Betty Davis hit the air-waves at The Weather Channel in early September, 2005.
Previously, she was the weekend evening meteorologist for WTVD-TV, the ABC O&O in Durham, North Carolina. She also has worked as weekend meteorologist and general assignment reporter for WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina.
Betty holds a B.S. in Geosciences, graduating from Mississippi State University’s Broadcast Meteorology Program. Also, she is a magna cum laude graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, with a B.A. in English. Betty is a member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association. She holds both the AMS and NWA seals of Approval. Betty is a native of Georgia and is thrilled to be back in the Peach State.
Nicole Mitchell: On-Camera Meteorologist
Nicole Mitchell was born in North Dakota and raised in Minnesota. She began her career in weather right out of High School, when she joined the Air National Guard and was trained by the military first as a Weather Observer, then as a Weather Forecaster. Her work with the military has given her the opportunity to forecast weather both around the country and around the world. She has worked as a military forecaster in Europe in support of military operations in both Kosovo and Bosnia, and even worked in Saudi Arabia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
In 2003, Nicole transferred from the National Guard into the Air Force Reserves, where she now works as a Weather Officer for the Hurricane Hunters, a unit which performs reconnaissance missions into tropical weather to gather data which aids in the forecasting of tropical storms and hurricanes. Storms she has flown into include hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Katrina.
In addition to her degree in weather from the Air Force, Nicole has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota in Speech-Communications. She started in television at a TV station in Duluth, MN, where she worked as an Assignment Manager, but also reported, produced, and began doing TV weather. She then worked as a TV Meteorologist at in Rapid City, SD, South Bend, IN, and finally Tulsa, OK, before joining The Weather Channel the summer of 2004. She is also a member of the American Meteorological Society, and has held the AMS Seal since 2000.
In her free time, Nicole believes strongly in a commitment to community service and volunteerism. She especially enjoys working with children, and loves getting students excited about math and science. Her own love of learning has her currently pursuing a Law degree at Georgia State University. She also has a strong sense of adventure, loves to travel all over the world, and has tried everything from kayaking and white water rafting to sky diving. She has ventured to every continent (yes, even Antarctica!), and has even climbed Africa’s highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro.
